1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Minbi app for iPhone and iPad, its share extension, and the website at minbi.app (together, “Minbi”). In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Minbi.

2. At a glance
- Your saved content is stored on your device and, when iCloud is available and enabled, in your private iCloud database.
- We do not operate a separate account system or content server for your Minbi library.
- We use Firebase Analytics to understand general product usage, but our custom analytics events never include saved text, URLs, titles, photos, recordings, transcripts, or entry identifiers.
- We do not sell personal data, serve advertising, or use your Minbi content for advertising.
- Voice transcription is performed on your device using Apple’s speech technology.
3. Content you save in Minbi
Depending on how you use the app, your library may contain notes, web links and preview metadata, photos, checklists, voice recordings and transcripts, reminders, boards, pin status, dates, and other information you choose to save. The app needs to process this content to display, organize, search, edit, share, remind you about, and sync it.
Storage and iCloud sync
Content is stored locally with Apple’s SwiftData technology. When you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available for Minbi, Apple’s CloudKit service synchronizes that content through a private database associated with your Apple Account. Apple processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not keep a second server-side copy of your library outside iCloud.
Share extension
When you share text, links, or images to Minbi from another app, the share extension writes an import package to Minbi’s local App Group. The main app imports it into your library and removes the successfully imported package.
4. Product analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand whether features are useful and to improve Minbi. Firebase may automatically process information such as app version, device and operating-system details, language, approximate geography, an app-installation identifier, and basic engagement events.
Minbi also records limited events such as which app tab was selected, whether an entry of a general content type was created or deleted, whether a reminder was present, and counts such as the number of imported entries. These events describe feature usage only. They do not contain the content you save, URLs, titles, board names, entry IDs, or other user-authored information.
We use this data to measure adoption, understand feature performance, and improve reliability. We do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Learn more in Firebase’s privacy information.
5. Device permissions and connected services
Minbi uses the following capabilities only when needed for features you choose:
- Photos: to let you select and save images. Minbi receives only the items you select through Apple’s picker.
- Microphone: to record a voice note while you hold the record control.
- On-device speech: to transcribe a voice note when you enable transcription. Required language models may be downloaded by Apple.
- Notifications: to schedule reminders you create. Reminder notifications are scheduled through Apple’s notification system.
- Apple Music: with your permission, to request personalized song suggestions and play songs you save. MusicKit and Apple Music are provided by Apple under Apple’s terms.
- Link previews: when you save a URL, Minbi may contact that website to retrieve its title, image, and related metadata. The website may receive ordinary connection data such as your IP address under its own privacy practices.
- Purchases: Minbi Pro purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through StoreKit. We receive entitlement and product information needed to unlock Pro, but not your complete payment-card details.
6. This website
The Minbi website does not set first-party analytics or advertising cookies. It is hosted with GitHub Pages. Like most hosting providers, GitHub may process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, and timestamps to deliver and secure the site. See GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include so we can respond and keep an appropriate support record.
8. Retention and deletion
- Your library: kept until you delete individual items, delete the app’s data, or remove it through your iCloud controls. Synced deletions are handled by CloudKit. Copies may remain temporarily in Apple-managed backups or recovery systems according to Apple’s practices.
- Local preferences: kept on your device until you reset them, remove the app, or the operating system clears them.
- Analytics: event-level analytics is kept for up to 14 months for product analysis. Aggregated or de-identified reports may be kept longer.
- Support messages: kept while we address your request and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for support, security, or legal records.
- Purchase records: retained by Apple under its policies; Minbi reads current StoreKit entitlements when needed.
Minbi has no separate user account to delete. You can delete content in the app and manage Minbi’s iCloud data through your Apple device settings. You may also contact us for help.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can:
- choose whether to grant Photos, Microphone, Notifications, Apple Music, and related system permissions, and change those choices in Settings;
- edit or delete saved content in Minbi;
- manage iCloud and App Store subscriptions through your Apple Account settings; and
- ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or provide a copy of personal data we control, or object to certain processing.
Some analytics records are pseudonymous and may not be reasonably linkable back to you. We may ask for information needed to verify and fulfill a request. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
10. International processing
Apple, Google, GitHub, and their service providers may process data in countries other than the one where you live. They use their own legal safeguards for international transfers. Your rights continue to apply as provided by applicable law.
11. Children
Minbi is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child in violation of applicable law. If you believe this has happened, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. Security
We use platform security features and limit analytics to information needed for product improvement. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your device, Apple Account, and device passcode.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Minbi changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required by law or when a change is material.
